Reflection:
I am very happy to be introduced to an array of different technology tools in this Innovative Learning program. I have learned so much from my cohorts by their experiences, which have influenced my style of teaching and lesson planning. The blogs have helped me immensely by increasing my knowledge and improve writing. The responds I received from my peers and instructors help me think outside the box in lesson planning in P.E. Not a strong writer but blogging on a weekly aided my writing style and academic vocabulary. Having the opportunity to explore different technology platforms such as google classroom, edutopia, and adobe spark will be a key to help my students become 21st Century Learners. Last Learnings: As a physical education teacher, my initial goal was to get students moving and exercising since they are sedentary in their core classes throughout the day. At times, my students are unmotivated and disengaged in the physical activity. I asked myself, "How can I make my students be productive and have fun doing it?" Smartphones are always a problem in P.E. Even repeating the school rules to them by elect to use their electronic device whenever the instructor is not paying attention. Instead of prohibiting students and having to fight them daily about their devices, why not incorporate technology in the lesson. I have used different kinds of technology tools while presenting Project-Based Learning but my daily use have been audio. I found that students are more happier, energetic, and enjoy the activity while playing popular music. TPACK reflection: Using technology in physical education class was not that common and at times it could also be a challenged since the environment wasn't the same as in a classroom. As Mishra and Koehler described TPACK is a theoretical framework where teachers integrate technology with the three bodies of knowledge: content, pedagogy, and technology. One of the ways I integrated technology in physical education was through project-based learning (PBL). Students have the opportunity to collaborate with each other, and use their prior knowledge with electronic devices to bridge the learning gap.

My target audience will be middle and high school physical education teachers since my research is having students to become healthy decision makers. Not to exclude, but I would like to also open my capstone to fellow health educators such as coaches, personal trainers, and health gurus. Being in the health industry for many years as fitness enthusiast, teacher and personal trainer, I know it is difficult at times to be get motivated and reach that fitness goal. I want my capstone to provide strategies to help engage and encourage students about their physical health.
The website should be attractive and appealing but engaging to the readers. Just like other capstone websites, the authors displayed an awesome logo with colors that are vibrant. I hope to make it easily to find helpful resources. On my Learn More pages, I want to include videos such as TPACK, TedTalks, and other useful resources. I am very glad to start with a rough draft and share it with my cohort. I feel my peers and instructors have provided me with excellent feedback and positive support through out this Master program. Therefore, I believe by intaking the helpful suggestions from my peers, I will create my ideal Capstone website. Who was their audience? Were they effective in presenting to them on every page? Why or why not?
Saelee- This site was really impressive. The logo is unique as the arrows are on it's own path as it relates to students need personalized learning. The capstone video was very easy to follow. The content and images flow very smoothly. This is a teacher audience and I believe especially math teachers will get an ample amount of resources from the site. Gottfried- After reading the home page, Gottfried provided great evidence of how blogs are beneficial in student learning. I like how she gave a plethora of ways that blogs connect students for future careers and higher learning. The logo stood out by the colors and font, it was appealing to the eyes. I believe the audience are teachers and administrators because blogging is not only for academics but for encouragement, advice, opportunities as Gottfried stated. The capstone video was really good but I would suggest it to be a tad bit slower pace so viewers can comprehend all the information clearly. Ellison- Being a video game fan, it was exciting to me read about the classroom gamification. I love the logo message "Level up Learning" because it signifies the achievements of student learning. The capstone video had awesome, and cheerful music that kept me engaged, however I think it went over the 90 seconds mark. The infographic was colorful and well displayed to the viewers. This is a teacher audience because Ellison provided great qualitative data. My ultimate goal is receive the knowledge and skills from the Innovative Learning program and to help my students be successful as much as possible. I am very grateful to have an intelligent cohort. I really appreciate how everyone share their technology teaching experiences what works well for them and how we share ideas to overcome the tech challenges. Feedback from the instructors and peers have really helped in my journey towards the capstone. I like how the responds from the blogs and breakout out rooms are positive criticism and respectful. It allows me to go deeper in my thinking to dissect how I can bridge the learning gap for my students. Ever though Physical Education is somewhat a different learning environment than in the classroom, I want to support my peers and share some strategies that works for me to help engaged and motivate student learning.
I thing we have great positivity cohesiveness in our cohort. Supporting peers by replying to their blogs positively, checking in on them and their work, and being a good listener. I feel the cohort does these things very well, and it goes along with our group norms. There is such a positive atmosphere with everyone in the cohort that it makes sharing out very at ease. The gratitude and respectfulness that everyone display is important for us which makes it easier to work and collaborate together thus becoming successful students. After majoring in Kinesiology at San Jose State University, I wanted to become a personal trainer. Working at a commercial gym was very fast paced, entertaining, and long evenings. I enjoyed helping my clients reach their fitness goals and feel better. One day, my client referred me to a charter high school in San Jose for the 9th grade physical education position. Not sure what I was getting myself into going through the interview process but I was offered the job. On the first day of school, the supervisor lead me into the miniature basketball gym and told me this was my classroom. I had no idea what materials I needed or what was a lesson plan. However, I did realized teachers make such a huge impact to students and I wanted to be a part of that. I worked four years at Downtown College Prep, then I moved on to ACE Charter School, a middle school also in San Jose. Next, I landed at another charter school called Magnolia Science Academy in Santa Clara. At Magnolia, I witness a lot of technology lessons in classroom and see how students implement and collaborate with peers. Moving back home to Vallejo, I worked at Benicia Middle School and had the opportunity to work with colleagues that incorporate technology tools into their lesson plans. I was amazed on learning how to use Google forms and Kahoot with my students.
